Looking at our pictures I realized it has been a while since I posted! The fall season has begun with running, pumpkin patches, camping, and residency interviews for Brad.
Brad has started running and he and his friend Caitlynn ran a 5K together and I am so proud of him! He did awesome and I can't believe how quickly he is getting back into his running groove! It was a mud run at UK and the boys and I had lots of fun watching him go through all the obstacles. I think my favorite was when they made them jump into one of those huge garbage dumpsters that they had filled with water and ice. And they had to go ALL the way under the water because they put a few wooden boards over the top to make them go under. It was through the UK ROTC so all the obstacles were military style type stuff and were really fun to watch. He can't wait to do another one he had so much fun.
We also went out to a pumpkin patch with all of our medical school friends and their families and it was a lot of fun. Ryder was the brave one and went down one of the big slides and Aiden loved the pirate ship and other playgrounds they had there. (And we didn't lose anyone this year! woohoo!)
And just this past weekend Brad took the boys on a father-son camp out with our church and it was the perfect cool fall weather. When Aiden came in the door he excitedly told me, "Mom! We got to make s'mores and to play with friends and meet new friends and sleep in our tent!" He was able to fully enjoy the experience because he sleeps like the dead and was the only one who slept soundly...Apparently Ryder just decided to wake up at 2 in the morning and be wide awake with Brad, but besides that everyone had a fun :) Brad got to play his guitar for the first time around the camp fire so he was happy.
I LOVE the changing weather and we are having fun hearing back from different schools and programs for Brad's residency! He leaves for his first interview tomorrow. Let interviewing season begin! The boys and I are gonna try to keep busy while Dad is gone by distracting ourselves with holiday fun and planning :) Luckily we get to go with him a few times on his travels and we also get to see lots of family in the next few months! We can't wait to see everyone and for the holidays! And here are a few random recent pictures just because :)
